Postcards from UkelandPosted by Yopparai in Untagged |
Over the weekend I have been having fun playing with my daughter's soprano ukulele. I am really surprised that I haven't messed with it before.
It all started with watching Marcy Marxer play 12th Street Rag, and then watching her lesson video. I had to try it.

Next, I watched Boog's Georgia on my Mind video, very cool, and started playing with that tune.

Lastly, Leon Redbone's version of My Walking Stick got stuck in my head and demanded to be released. I think it was the intro that hooked me. My right hand fell into my normal clawhammer motion, so I stuck with it. Man those frets get close together up the neck.

I will probably build a concert scale uke, either banjolele or cigar box, in the near future.
